Common problems
- Incomplete sealing of the junctions between walls, ceilings and floors
- Poorly fitted or sealed windows and doors
- Badly installed trickle vents
- Unsealed loft hatches.
- Skirting boards not sealed to floor or wall allowing leakage behind plasterboard.
- Through penetrations / holes in plasterboard hidden behind kitchen units.
- Around boiler flue penetrations to the external walls.
- Through soil stack boxing not sealed allowing leakage to the roof void.
- Around radiator pipework penetrating the floor or the plasterboard.
- Service pipes including heating, water and waste pipes not sealed to external walls, floors, ceilings and internal partitions.
- In correct fitting of electrical fittings, such as spotlight, sockets and switches.
